8th Kildare Allenwood Scout group was founded in 1993.

We are located in a rural setting in the Kildare countryside, surrounded by the picturesque Bog of Allen, with the Grand Canal flowing gently through.

Our group has Beaver, Cub, and Scout Sections which cater for 6-8 year olds (Beavers), 9-12 year olds (Cubs), and 13-16-year-olds (Scouts).

All sections take advantage of the amenities locally, hiking in the forests and along the canal bank, and in recent times, taking to the waters of the canal in the group’s Kayaks. 

Allenwood Scout group was lucky to gain permanent residence a few years ago, in the form of a donated Pre-fab, which is sited on land owned by ACDAL. Our den is located alongside Bright Sparks Creche, Na Fianna Men’s Shed, and the Allenwood Playground.

Our den was recently re-painted in our neckerchief colours, grey and scarlet red, with thanks to the generous support of the Allenwood Tidy Towns.

For many years prior to that, the group held Den meetings in the Allenwood GAA hall, which was an excellent location for indoor and outdoor activities.
